Every year numerous school leavers want to study medicine in Germany. After all, studying medicine promises lucrative career opportunities and the profession of doctor is also generally very highly regarded. That is why around 40,000 high school graduates apply for around 9,000 places to study medicine every year.
The medical degree is probably the most popular degree in Germany and therefore the degree with the highest NC. But if you want to study medicine, you not only have to have very good grades in the Abitur, you also have to be interested in the content of medical studies.
